Camtasia Green Screen Tutorial - Chroma key

Hi everyone and welcome to another Article of TechSmith Tips. Today we're gonna show you how to pull off a green screen effect inside of Camtasia alright so we brought our footage in our editor, in this case we are using Camtasia, but any sort of video editor is going to work fine for this. 

So what you want to do is get this video clip on top of our image here which is on track one. We are going to put our video clip on top of that on track two. And make sure that video clip is highlighted and select visual properties. Once we are in visual properties, we will have a few options here, the one you are going to want to select is Remove a Color. 

So we are going to select that, then select our little paint bucket here and click select color. Now in this case you want to select a color of green that's pretty close to your subject, so I am going to select something up here. Now you are going to see that it keys out the green pretty well for first-time. 

Also you are going to notice all of this extra lights and board and all the stuff behind that we're going to want to get rid of, so an easy way to do that is have your clip selected, and click the crop tool, which is up here, and you are going to want to select these edges here, you're going to want to bring them in to get rid of that extra stuff on the side. 

So, try to get as close as possible, let's try not to cut off the subject. Bring that in, maybe bring this up a tad. you can still see we have a little bit of a green glow around me here, so we have a few options. First one we usually mess with is the tolerance slider. So you're going to want to bring that out and you'll kind of start to see it disappear a little bit. 

You don't want to go too far, you want to have a nice balance.. something right about there, about 31, 30 looks pretty good. We have a few other options here you can mess with but I think that looks pretty good. But, I'll have that selected, turn off the crop tool and re-arrange if you would like.
